Lushan Mountain is best known for its cool summer days, abundant flora and spectacular views of the Jiangxi plains. Set amongst mist cloaked peaks, its Buddhist and Taoist temples blend seamlessly with the rugged landscape.
Lushan Mountain is an ideal place to get off the beaten track and explore. After a short walk in almost any direction you're likely to find one of the 200 odd historical buildings scattered about the mountain's craggy outcrops.
 
The mountain itself has 99 separate peaks, the highest of which are hidden by clouds for most of the year. Hang yang Peak, which standing 1,474m above sea level offers views of the sea of clouds below that have inspired countless generations of Chinese poets, artists and spiritual leaders.
 
Location
Located in the north of Jiangxi, in the region of three provinces of Gan, Yue and Wa hands over, depends Yangtze River in the north, it is close to the Panyang Lake in the east. As it is in the subtropics eastern monsoon district in China, faces the river and the lake, having the characteristic of clear mountainous country climate, so the best season when you come to Lushan Mountain is certainly in summer.
 
History
Lushan Mountain began its emergence as a place of cultural and religious significance during the Han Dynasty at around 300 BC. In subsequent years, it became home to the monk Huiyuan, who founded the Jingtu sect of Buddhism and monk Jianzhen, who originally took the teachings of Buddhism to Japan.
 
In later centuries, Lushan Mountain's reputation as a center of religious study attracted various other sects of Buddhism, Islam and Christianity to set up centers there. In more recent history, Chairman Mao chose Lu Shan as the destination for several Communist Party Conferences, the mysterious topics of which are still debated today.
 
Sandie Spring
From the immemorial time Sandie Spring is called the first spectacular sight in Lushan Mountain, contain "If you do not go to Sandie Spring, you aren't a visitors who visit in Lushan Mountain". The water in a valley runs off from the precipice of Wulao Peak. The fall of Sandie Spring's waterfalls is 155 meters.
 
Dragon Head Cliff
It is so named for its resemblance to a dragon perched and ready to take flight, Resemblances aside, it offers an awe inspiring view out over the Jiangxi plains below. The natural rock platform that forms the dragon's head protrudes over the edge of the cliff which drops away several hundred meters before leveling out.
 
Wulao Peak
There are five peaks to connect with each other in a place which is in the southeast of Lushan Mountain and is apart more than 10 kilometers from Guling Street. If looking up at the group of mountain peaks from Haihui Temple at the foothill, they like five old men sitting side by side, so have this name. Cold, leisurely, solemn and peaceful, Wulao Peak's elevation is 1358 meters.
 
Hanfankou
Lushan Mountain is one of nine greatest places where looking at sunrise in China. Looking at sunrise in the Lushan Mountain locates in Hanfankou which is in the middle seat of Hanfan Peak in the East Valley of Lushan Mountain; Hanfan Station is the best location. The elevation of Hanfankou is 1286 meters.
 
Fairy Hole
It is well known in the world, locates in the west of Tianchi Mountain in the Lushan Mountain. It is a rock hole that is constituted by the sand precipice, is high 6 meters, 12 meters of breadth, deep 14 meters. Because the great universe continuously the morals, custom and landscapes flush over a long period of time, becoming the natural hole slowly.
 
Admission Fee: 180 RMB per person in peak season and 160 RMB per person in slow season.
 
Opening time: 6:00 am to 8:00 pm
