Chinese equities opened lower on Tuesday morning with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edging down 0.54 percent to open at 2,865.70.

 BEIJING, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese equities opened lower on Tuesday morning with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edging down 0.54 percent to open at 2,865.70.

    The Shenzhen Component Index slide 0.75 percent to open at 11,548.25.
