It will take 12 hours for rescuers to drain water from a flooded coal mine in north China's Shanxi Province, where four miners are trapped, rescuers said Friday evening.

  TAIYUAN, June 19 (Xinhua) -- It will take 12 hours for rescuers to drain water from a flooded coal mine in north China's Shanxi Province, where four miners are trapped, rescuers said Friday evening.

    According to rescuers, 2,800 cubic meters of water had gushed into the shaft of the Xiguo Xinxing Coal Mine in Linfen city at about 2:20 a.m., where nine miners were working. Five of them managed to escape while four others were trapped.

    Four pumps were being used, draining 200 cubic meters of water per hour.
