Rainstorms lashed this capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from Thursday to Friday, swamping city roads, and causing traffic problems.
NANNING, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Rainstorms lashed this capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from Thursday to Friday, swamping city roads, and causing traffic problems.

    No casualties have been reported.

    According to the regional meteorological center, seven cities and counties of Guangxi were hit by heavy rainstorms from 8 a.m. Thursday to 8 a.m. Friday. The biggest precipitation was recorded in Guiping City at 135 mm.

    The center forecast that the rainy weather would continue in coastal areas from Friday night to Saturday, but that the storms would be less powerful.

    The civil affairs department is still collecting damage reports.

    The local flood control headquarters urged precautions against disasters like flood, mountain torrents, landslides and mudflows which could be triggered by the heavy rainfall.
