Slowing upward social mobility is forcing many HongKongers to tread water.

The younger generation earns less and can expect fewer pay rises than their parents' generation, with many doubtful they can replicate the middle class success story.

Still, others struggle with riskier alternatives to realise their home owning, nuclear family dreams.
