The cotton planting acreage is 5.4 million hectare with 0.34 million hectare increase, and its output is 6.73 million tons with 17.8% growth; oil plants acreage is 13.8 million hectare with 0.52 million hectare decline, and its output is 30.62 million tons with 0.5% decrease; sugar plants acreage is 17.8 million hectare with 0.22 million hectare increase, and its output is 109.87 million tons with 16.2% growth; vegetables acreage is 18.18 million hectare with 0.46 million hectare increase.
Grains production makes the third year of increase. Estimated by Ministry of Agriculture, grains output in 2006 is up to more than 980 billion Jin. This is the first time for china to make three-year continuous increase in grain production since 1985. Meanwhile, grain output per area marks three-year continuous highest output in history; ad the high grade grain is increased. The comprehensive excellent rate of rice, wheat, corn and soybeans is improved by 5%. The 13 main grain production regions account for 75% national grain output, which highlight the support function for grain stable development.
In 2006, more 1.08 million hectare effective irrigation acreage is explored, and 1.28 million hectare water-economizing irrigation acreage is increased.
The peasant income maintains three-year rapid increase, too. It is estimated that the average net income per peasant in 2006 is increased more than 6%. And it is the first time for china to make three-year continuous increase with more than 6% growth since 1985. In addition, employment of peasants in other fields is increased. It is said that there are more than 0.2 billion peasants work in villages and towns enterprises, or go out to work. Including 115 million migrant workers with 6.7 million growth.
All industries of Agriculture develop stably and harmoniously. Overcoming the influence of epidemic disease and price fluctuation, the stock raising industry maintains stable development, and it is estimated that annual output of meats, eggs and milks are respectively 79.8 million tons, 29.4 million tons and 32.9 million tons with 3%,2% and 15% growth. The fishery industry continues its stable development, and it is anticipated that annual output of water products is more than 52.5 million tons with 3% growth. The farming mechanical equipment and technology are advanced greatly. The coverage of comprehensive mechanism farming is up to 38%. Towns’ enterprises are developed rapidly. It will make 5750 billion yuan added-value with 13.2% increase.
In 2006, Chinese agricultural products exports overcome technological barriers both home and abroad and the pressure of increasing cost, maintaining rapid development. Agricultural products exports amounts to 31.03 billion US dollars with 14.1% year on year increase. In 2006, agricultural products exports steps in a new age with four characteristics.

Firstly, advantageous agricultural products exports maintains rapid increase, products structure is further optimized, exports benefits are improved. Advantageous products such as gardening, seas foods exports are developed rapidly, which pulled total exports substantially. From January to December, gardening products exports estimates 7.91 billion US dollars with 21.5% year on year growth; seas foods exports estimates 8.05% billion US dollars with 19.5% year on year increase. Just these two advantageous products estimate 15.96 billion US dollars with 2.8 billion US dollars growth, accounting for 57.4% of our total exports, and contributing more than 10 percent growth in advancing total agricultural products exports.
Share of deep processed agricultural products is improved, and exported commodities structure is further optimized. From January to December, primary products exports estimate 14.36 billion US dollars with 6.7% year on year growth; machining products exports estimate 13.44 billion US dollars with 23.1% year on year growth,; and its proportion in agricultural products exports goes up to 48.3% with 3.5 percent year on year growth.
Export price still goes up, and export benefits rise up, too. In the first three quarters of 2006, our agricultural products produce price index is dropped by 0.27 percent, while the export price index is increased by 4.7 percent in the first 11 month. Average export price of garlic, apple, apple juice, mushroom can and other 4 main export products are increased by more than 20%.

Secondly, European and American markets grow rapidly, Japanese market slow down its pace, and the export markets becomes more. Pulled by the exports of gardening and sea foods, European and American markets grow quickly. From January to December, we export 3.38 billion US dollars products to America with 34.1% year on year growth; we also export 3.92 billion US dollars products to European Union with 25.4% year on year growth.
Influenced by the “affirmation list system”, increment of Japanese market is dropped back substantially. From January to December, China export 7.45 billion US products to Japan with 3.7% year on year growth, while the year-on-year growth of last is 9.4%.
The new emerging market develops well, export markets becomes more and more diversified. From January to December, West Asian, Latin America, Russian and other emerging markets expands vastly. The export increments in those markets are over 20%, accounting for 19.4% of total exports which is 1 percent above that of the tenth Five-year period.
Thirdly, main export provinces and cities maintain good momentum; exports from seven provinces and cities accounts for 70% of total exports; exports from some provinces in middle or west parts of China keep rapid growth. In the first 11 month, exports value of Shangdong, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Fujian, Liaoning, Jiangsu and Beijing are all more than 1 billion US dollars respectively, accounting for 71.3% .Among them, exports increments of Jiangsu, Fujian and Shangodng are respectively 32.3%, 23.0% and 17.0%.
Exports value of 18 provinces and cities in middle or west parts of China total up 3.76 US dollars with 11.4% year on year growth, accounting for 13.4% of total agricultural products exports value. Among them, exports increments in Shanxi, Hainan, Ningxia, Tibet and Hubei are respectively 4.6％、70.7％、61.0％、43.9％、35.5％.
Lastly, private-owned enterprises become new exports growth force; operation entity becomes more energetic; and a series of leading enterprises for agricultural products exports are developed. From January to December, private-owned enterprises export 8.37 billion US dollars products with 40.8% year on year increase, and its proportion goes up to 30.1%. Private-owned enterprises become new exports growth force in exporting agricultural products, contributing more than 10 percent growth in advancing total agricultural products exports.
From January to December, there are 20200 domestic agricultural exports enterprises with 16.8% year on year growth. Leading enterprises with over 10 million US dollars exports is 544 with 21.4% year on year growth. Their exports value is 12.8 billion US dollars, accounting for 46% of national exports value.
In 2006, in face of more strict foreign technological barriers and increasing cost, our agricultural products exports make rapid growth. The reasons for the growth are as follows: Firstly, our government pays much attention to problems of farmer, farming and rural area. Ministry of commerce and other departments issue a series of policies and measures to support agricultural development; secondly, local government transfer the foreign trade growth manner to promote agricultural products exports; lastly, the competition forces of exports enterprises are intensified, the capacities of ensuring quality and safety, breaching foreign technological barrier are improved.
