At the end of 2008, China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) confirmed 2009 as “China Ecotourism Year” and the concept of ecotourism began to put into practice.
The term of ecotourism was firstly put forward in 1983 by Ceballas-Lascurain, the Special Advisor of International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN). At that time, two key points were raised. Firstly, the main objects of ecotourism should be natural scenery. Secondly, these objects should be protected from damage. Therefore, ecotourism emphasizes more the protection for natural sceneries. It is a sustainable development of tourism.
Nowadays, with people’s environmental awareness greatly raised, the concept of ecotourism becomes very populous once it was put forward. According to different actual conditions, every country has formed its own distinct ecotourism.

In developing ecotourism, they avoid to put up large-scale installations so as to maintain the natural beauties. And no transport tools are available.
