About 100 demonstration base for study in China will be built by 2020 to attract more international students to study in China.
To implement the “National Mid and Long-term Reform and Development Plan (2010-2020)” and carry on “Plan for Study in China”, the Ministry of Education has chosen 38 universities in China like Peking University, Xidian University and Chongqing University as the first demonstration base for study in China. The 38 universities are qualified on scale of international students, international education structure and development speed.
In the work of construction of demonstration base for study in China, the department of international cooperation and communication in the Ministry of Education put forward that about 100 demonstration bases for study in China will be built by 2020. They will be the international education brand with stronger competitiveness and higher visibility. The 100 demonstration bases will play an exemplary and leading role in international students’ enrollment and management. They will increase the overall level of the work for study in China.
According to China Education Online, the demonstration base for study in China is divided into two categories: the first category is universities directly under the Ministry of Education, they are chosen by the department of international cooperation and communication; the second category is local universities, they recommended by provincial education bureau and the department of international cooperation and communication.
