Could I study in China?
China welcomes students from all over the world to study in China. Universities in China offer foreign students both academic education and non-degree education. Academic education contains associate school students, undergraduates, master’s degree students and doctorate students; Non-degree education contains advanced students and research scholars. The academic education is carried out under the teaching plan approved by Ministry of Education, the school will awards students diploma and certificate of education issued by our nation after graduation, while non-degree education refers to all kinds of training programs and advanced study, after students’ graduation, the training departments will award them certificate of completion. You can make the choice based on your personal demand.


Could I study in China for master’s degree even if I know nothing about Chinese?
The language of instruction of Universities in China is Chinese. So the students knowing nothing about Chinese are suggested to take one or two year Chinese language training. Usually, the foreign student majoring in science, engineering, agriculture, medicine (western medicine), economics, management science and law science need to take one year’s Chinese language training; the foreign student majoring in liberal art, history, philosophy and medicine (TCM, Chinese Pharmacy) need to take 2 year Chinese language training.


Some universities in China offer English-instructed programs for post-gradates and advanced scholars, so the students learning English-instructed programs needn’t to learn Chinese language.

What are the different types of Universities in China?
Universities in China are divided into comprehensive ones and professional ones. The comprehensive universities have comparably complete disciplines that cover both science and liberal arts, they are large and are of strong scientific research; the professional universities have no that many but concentrated disciplines, the campus are not big. The student activities usually are full of strong professional style. What do I study?
Universities in China offer international students hundreds of programs. When selecting programs,. The bachelor’s degree applicants can choose any programs for which he or she is qualified to apply. Please draw your attention that most universities in China have academic background requirements on master and doctor’s degree applicants, the applicants are probably required to provide letters of recommendation, academic papers published, etc.


When do students attend to universities in China?
The start time of degree programs of most universities in China is September, which differs from the universities in western countries. A few programs may start in spring semester. In terms of the start date of language programs, usually, 6 month’s language programs have two entry dates once a year; well, one year’s language programs usually starts on every autumn; the short-term programs may start on a fix time or start according to the universities’ arrangement. Students in Chinese universities can enjoy one month’s winter holiday and two months’ summer holidays.
 Note: Some universities may say that the school starts at any time on course description; it means that these universities open classes any time except for holidays. The students usually have winter holidays from Jan. to Feb. and summer holidays from July to Aug.


Can foreigners work during studying in China?
According to China’s laws and regulations, foreigners are not allowed to do social work as a student, but can do work-study in campus.


Does it cost much to living in China?
Though the price in China is growing, but compared with most industrial countries, the living expenses here is not that high. In China, you will have cozy life, feel affordable, you will enjoy a way of life that you cannot afford to in our own countries. While in different cities, the daily expenses can be different. In Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and those developed coastal cities; the living expenses are comparably higher than that in mainland China. As in those cities, there are rich entertainment activities and facilities, the living expenses are comparably higher


I don’t speak Chinese, What if I cannot find a place to live when going to study in China?
Universities in China offer foreign students accommodation facilities. As room types and prices are different, the foreign students need to apply for accommodation to universities in advance. If you come with your parents, you must keep the universities informed; otherwise you need to cater your parents by yourself. The foreign student can live outside campus under the permission of the universities, but you must apply for resident permit at the local public securities department.
