More mysterious, more attractive. Many tourists come for the mystery. Knowing what are the most mysterious places in China? Of course the following five, for many phenomenons there are unable to be explained by the current science.
It is the most beautiful mountain lake you have never seen. It is the latest lake open to all tourists in China and has attained a reputation as "the tourism pearl of Mountain Altai". The lake takes on different colors following the four seasons of the year, sometimes it's crystal blue, sometimes it's dark green, or even gray, you may find it containing many colors setting off each another at a time, thus it got a name as the color-changing lake. Kanas Lake is not only famous for its beautiful seneries, but also the monster in the lake.
 
Shennongjia is situated in western Hubei Province, covering an area of over 3,000 square kilometers. Known as “The Oriental Botanic Garden” and the natural gene bank of biological species, it shelters some of the world’s rare or endangered plants and animals, such as Chinese dove trees, South China tigers, white bears and white snakes. And the famous legend---the mysterious "Wild Man" is said to be found in the mountains. Recently, some hikers and visitors also announced their sightings of The Wild Man. But to this day, no Wild Man has yet been caught.
 
Meili Snow Mountains rise between the Salween River and the Mekong River in the extreme edge of Northwest Yunnan Province. The holy Kawa Karpo (6740M), the highest peak of Meili, is one of the most sacred mountains of Tibetan Buddhism. It is recommended to fulfill the circuit of Kawa Karpo during the Year of Sheep.
 
Brahmaputra Canyon is a grand horse hoof shaped turn round the highest peak of east Himalayas, Nanjabarw Peak. The canyon is situated in the lower reaches of the Yarlung Tsangpo River with a total length of 496 kilometers. Its depth is superior to the Grand Canyon in America, being the deepest canyon in the world. In the inmost recesses of the canyon, there is the Medog which is the only county in China with out road constructed. It is an isolated and mysterious 'Xanadu' in Plateau outside the earthly world. Traveling Medog's country landscape by foot is the best of tour.
 
Himalayas
The Greater Himalayas, or northern range, average approximately 6,000 meters in height and contain the three highest mountains on earth: Mount Everest (8,848 meters) on the China-Nepal border; K2 (8,611 meters, also known as Mount Godwin-Austen, and in China as Qogir Feng) in an area claimed by India, Pakistan, and China; and Kanchenjunga (8,598 meters) on the India-Nepal border. Around Mt. Everest, there are four peaks above 8,000 meters high and other 14 peaks above 7,000 meters, which form an amazing picture of Mt.Everest Natural Scenery Area with jokuls, peaks groups, and mountain waves.
