Having been attracted by the beautiful scenery of China, and want to plan a trip to China? Traveling in a foreign country can be more complex, for you will need to pay more attention to the stay there, for example, food, cloth and other else. Then what you should bring with you for a trip to China?
Identity Card or Passport
Without identity card or passport, you will be in trouble at any time, such as the situation of checking in a hotel.

Cash and Credit Card
When traveling in China, you should take enough RMB and some small change for you to go shopping conveniently. If you want to live in a hotel, you must take the credit card to avoid the large amount of cash collateral in the reception desk.

Medicine
Sufficient anti-inflammatory drugs, band-aids, and cold cures are the important items to ensure you a good jounery. If you have to take regular prescription medicines, be sure to bring adequate supplies.

Chocolate
The weather of tourist areas is unpredictable, and once you are plunged into the cold and hungry situation, a few pieces of chocolate will be the best food. Besides, prepare yourself a few beef jerky, and these can support you for several hours, and thus encourage you to go on the trip.

Compass
It will be easy for you to loss the sense of direction in the south (Yunnan, Guizhou, and Sichuan Provinces) hilly areas. What’s worse, they are usually sparsely populated areas. Therefore, taking a compass will guarantee the safety of your trip.

Watch
Time is the key point to ensure you a happy trip. Some people say that mobile phones can also tell the time, so there is no need to wear watch. That may be right if you travel only two days, but for more than two days of travel, the battery power is limited, and it is usually not very easy to charge in tourist places.

Phone
Please keep in mind that you should retain a link with the outside world. The phone will be an effective channel to seek for help in a difficult position. This is also true in outbound tourism.

Backpacks
A sturdy backpack is much easier to carry than a suitcase. A frameless or internal-frame pack is preferable. It is generally easier for storage on buses and trains and is also more comfortable to walk with. Besides, a small shoulder bag is essential for carrying your camera and other daily items around after you have deposited your backpack at the hotel or railway station.

Clothing
It is recommended that you take with you just a couple of shirts, sweaters, and a jacket (depending on the season). These can be worn in layers to accommodate the climatic variations. If you are traveling in northern China during winter, prepare yourself a good down jacket, hat, and mittens and boots are necessary. Besides underwear and rainwear, comfortable socks and hiking boots are also needed.

Articles of Daily Use
A good pair of sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen lotion and a water bottle are essential, particularly in the desert regions or at high altitudes. If you are going to travel in some of the more remote cities in China, items such as shaving cream, decent razor blades, mosquito repellent, deodorant, dental floss, tampons and contact lens solution should be readily available.

Maps
This is the other key item to ensure your happy travel, which is very light to take with.

The above things are necessary for your travel. Please make sure that you have taken all of these before you travel in China.
