The Distinguished International Students Scholarship was set up by the Ministry of Education of China to sponsor outstanding international students who have finished their bachelor's or master's education in China and have been enrolled by designated Chinese institutions as Master or Doctoral candidates.

Categories of Applicants and Duration of Scholarship
Master degree students: 1-3 academic years
Doctoral degree students: 1-4 academic years
 
Application
If applicants continue their study in the present institutions, they are required to submit their applications to CSC via the institutions’ recommendation.
 
If applicants graduated from the current institutions and apply for further study in another institution, they are required to submit their applications to CSC via the admitting institutions'  recommendation.
 
Eligibility
Applicants must be international students currently studying in the designated Chinese institutions and in good health.
 
Applicants must have a good academic record and merits in the duration of their academic year, also they must be those who have been enrolled by the designated Chinese institutions as Master or Doctoral candidates in the year of their graduation or are now carrying out their Master or Doctoral studies in those Chinese institutions.
 
Applicants for master degree studies must be under the age of 35, and applicants for doctoral degree studies must be under the age of 40.
 
What’s more, the applicants who want to apply for this scholarship should not enjoy any other kind of sponsorship.
 
Details of the Scholarship
Full scholarship:
-Exempt from registration fee, tuition fee, fee for laboratory experiment, fee for internship, fee for basic learning materials and accommodation.
 
-Living allowance and a one-off settlement subsidy.
-Fee for outpatient medical service, Comprehensive Medical Insurance and Benefit Plan for International Students in China.
 
-A hard-seat train ticket between the port of entry on registration or the port for departure on graduation and the city where the host university or the university of Chinese language studies is located (a hard-berth train ticket for over-night trip).
 
Application Materials
The applicants must fill in and provide the following materials truly and correctly.
 
1. Application Form for Distinguished International Students Scholarship (printed by CSC). The application form can be obtained in the institutions or downloaded from http://www.csc.edu.cn.
 
2. Copies of last diploma and degree certificate. Candidates should provide proof letter issued by the institutions if the candidates have not obtain the diploma and degree certificate during the application.
 
3. Copy of Admission Notice as master or doctoral degree student. Candidates should provide proof letter issued by the institutions if the candidates have not obtain the Admission Notice during the application.
 
4. Transcripts during the study in Chinese institutions.
 
5. Study plan (Should include the understanding of the major and plan for further study. No less than 1000 words for master candidates and no less than 2000 words for doctor candidates).
 
6. Released articles or academic achievements during their study period.
 
7. Recommendation letter by the international students office of the Chinese institution in which the student currently studies.
