Where to apply
In order to apply for a one-year residence permit, the applicants should go to the relevant authority in charge of it in Shanghai, which is the Entry and Exit Control of Shanghai. And the work hours of it is Monday- Saturday: 9:00-17:00.
Conditions for the administrative approval
1. Those coming to work in Shanghai;
2. Resident reporters in Shanghai;
3. Those coming to Shanghai making profit-making artistic performance;
Note: Spouse accompanied of the above mentioned personnel and their children under 18 years of age and parents can apply for a Permanent Residence Permit for Aliens with the same valid term.
Application materials
For those applicants of their one-year residence permit, they need to prepare the following materials correctly:
1. To complete and submit the Application Form on Aliens Applying for a Visa and Residence Permit, and submit a full-faced picture which is taken recently;
2. To present the temporary registered residence certificate in Shanghai;
3. To present, for examination the applicant's valid passport and visa;
4. To submit a health certificate issued by department on health quarantine of Shanghai (applicant under 18 or over 70 years of age can be exempted from the certificate, and those whose residence permit expires going for renewing the permit within 3 months after the valid term can be exempted from the health certificate); .
5. To present official letter on the application from the unit;
6. To present certificate on the approval and the duplicate of business license of the enterprise, and registration certification of the representative organ;
7. Employment permit and employment registration form are needed for personnel under the level of general manager (or "F" type personnel with B card of "Residence Permit of Shanghai"); expert certificate is needed for a foreign expert and reporter certificate for a resident reporter; approved documents on approval of artistic performance issued by Ministry of Culture or Shanghai Municipal Culture Administrative Bureau and Certificate on Artistic Performance issued by the municipal culture administrative bureau are needed for those engaged in profit-making artistic performance;
Note:
1. Family remembers accompanied of the above personnel are to provide their own valid passports and visas, as well as document on their kinship relation and corresponding materials.
2. For the first application, the applicant must go personally for the application; for a second application, working units or relatives of the applicants can be entrusted for the application.
3. Procedures and time limit for processing the application
With complete application materials, the application is to be handled and wound up within 5 working days.
