Tourist visa (L-visa) is issued to an applicant who comes to China for tourist purposes, family visiting or other personal affairs. In order to apply for such visa to china, you may face many questions, go on reading and you will know more about tourist visa application.
Documents should be submitted
(1) A valid original passport. There must be blank visa pages in the passport. Pages for endorsements or amendments can not be used as a visa page. The passport should be valid for at least 6 months;
(2) One completed Chinese Visa Application Form signed by the applicant. Children's application form can be signed by their parents or guardians.
(3) One recent passport photograph affixed to the visa application form. Life photos, copied photos and digital photos printed on ordinary paper are not acceptable.
(4) A copy of outward and return flight ticket booking; a copy of Chinese hotel booking is also needed.
Notes
1 For applicants from some specific countries, additional documents other than those mentioned above may be required.
2 Applicants should check the issued visa upon collection and if necessary raise any queries at the same time. If there is no immediate query relating to the issued visa, the applicant is held responsible under any circumstances thereafter.
Where to submit your visa application
1. You may come to the Visa Office of the Embassy or Consulate -General in the consular jurisdiction in which you live to submit the application;
2. If you cannot come personally, you may entrust someone else or a travel/visa agent to come to the visa office of the Embassy or Consulate -General in the consular jurisdiction in which you live for the application process.
Additional information you may find helpful
1. If the visa application form is not filled out completely, correctly and legibly, these can cause a delay in processing or refusal of the requested visa.
2. Please request your visa according to your times of entry, duration of stay and time of entry.
3. Applicants may need to provide other documents required by Consular officers.
4. Any person suffering from a mental disorder, leprosy, AIDS, venereal diseases, contagious tuberculosis or other such infectious diseases shall not be permitted to enter China.
5. Foreigners requesting to visit Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Xiamen and other Special Economic Zones may apply directly to visa authorities in these zones for tourist visas. Visitors who want to Tibet need to acquire the consent of the Tourism Administration of the Tibet Autonomous Region or any one of its foreign representative offices.
Paying the visa fee
The overseas Chinese visa authorities are Chinese embassies, consulates, visa offices, the consular department of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in HKSAR, and other agencies abroad authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China. If a foreigner intends to enter into, exit from or transit through the Chinese territory, he shall apply to the above-mentioned Chinese visa authorities for a Chinese visa.
