Bus
Public transportation in Hangzhou is convenient. Buses, minibuses and tourist routes reach all sections of the city. Ticket price ranges from 1 to 3 Yuan.

A tip: Almost all of the buses do not have conductors. So please bring enough small changes with you for the fare. You will not get change if you put a big note into the slot.

Main public bus lines around the West Lake are K7, 27, 308, Tourist Bus No. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, Holiday Bus No. 1, 4, 5, 6 and 7.

Taxi

Metered taxis are easily hailed in Hangzhou City; normally the flag fall rate is 10 Yuan per the first three kilometers (1.9 miles). Hangzhou cabs rank among the top in China's big cities for vehicle model and service. Passat, Citroen Picasso, Bor, and Sonata are the primary brands.

Bicycles
Lots of bicycles are for rent around the West Lake. The rental is about 5 to 15 Yuan per hour.

West Lake Pleasure Boat

Electric Boat: 35 Yuan for the ordinary boat, 45 Yuan for the deluxe boat per person

Chartered Boat: The rental is approximately 80 Yuan per hour.

Self-Boating: You can rent a boat with six seats for 20 Yuan for two hours. An additional ten yuan is payable if you exceed two hours.
