The ASEAN Ten plus One meeting has been held in the capital Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The ministerial-level meeting between ASEAN and China was held on Wednesday afternoon. Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi attended the event. China has said it is prepared to discuss issues aimed at "building trust and deepening cooperation".

On the South China Sea issue, China reaffirmed it will do its utmost in maintaining peace and stability in the region. Earlier in the morning, ASEAN member countries also held talks with New Zealand, India, Australia and Japan. They discussed political issues, security and financial issues affecting the region.

On Tuesday, the 13th ASEAN Plus Three meeting was held. This included China, Japan, and South Korea. They agreed to further tighten relations and cooperation as they mark the 15th anniversary of official ties.
