More and more Belgian students come to study in China.

th August, the Chinese embassy in Belgium hold farewell meeting for 2013 Belgian students study in China with
Chinese Government Scholarship. Ambassador Mr. Liao Liqiang encouraged Belgian students to study hard in China and enjoy the cultural richness of China. He also hoped the students can make a great contribution to exchange and friendship between China and Belgium.
Mr. Liao Liqiang said, the exchange of students is the most active part of educational communication in China and Belgium. At present, there are 800 Belgian students studying in China. In the past 16 years, about 529 Belgian students were awarded Chinese Government Scholarship. In this year, it boasts the largest number of Belgian students study in China. Meanwhile, there are also 2,300 Chinese students studying in Belgium.
"With the deepening of cooperation in China and foreign countries, we can find that students study abroad and
study in China are increasing in the same pace.” Chinese counselor of education Mr. Tao Hongjian added. In last year, Chinese students studying abroad are 400 thousand and about 300 thousand student came back to China after graduation. Now, there are 330 thousand foreign students from 184 countries studying in China’s universities.
Vincent Vanassche is a graduate of Vrije Universiteit Brussel, and he also gets Chinese Government Scholarship. From 2011 to 2012, he studied in Xiamen University in China. He told our reporter that Chinese government made him have chance to study Chinese in China. What’s more important, he experienced Chinese culture and increased his life skill. It laid a solid foundation for his future development.
