On the afternoon of March 7, 2012, Confucius Institute at University of Antananarivo, Madagascar held a tug-of-war competition to celebrate the International Women's Day.

Six man-and-woman mixed teams, consisting of students of intensive Chinese course, bachelor-degree course, master-degree course, and faculty and staff members, participated in the game. The players completed the game with the spirit of solidarity, friendship and perseverance. Meanwhile, the audience and cheering squad encouraged the players with enthusiastic shouts. The competition proceeded in a warm and happy atmosphere.

The event introduced tug-of-war to Malagasy campus for the first time, strengthened the collective sense of honor and enhanced the team morale of the Institute.
