XI'AN, March 23 (Xinhua) -- A documentary on the origins of the Chinese civilization will be made available to a global audience via China Xinhua News Network (CNC), the TV arm of Xinhua News Agency, starting April 3.
The documentary, entitled "Yellow Emperor," a legendary sovereign and the esteemed founder of the Chinese civilization, will explore the early Chinese society that existed over 4,000 years ago.
The documentary is based on a large number of historical records, archaeological finds, and interviews with over 100 scholars, according to its producers in northwest China's Shaanxi Province.
The documentary will air ahead of a grand sacrificial ritual to the Yellow Emperor hosted in Shaanxi on the Tomb Sweeping Day on April 4, an occasion for the Chinese to remember the deceased and worship their ancestors.
The six-episode series will run on the Chinese and English-language channels of CNC, available in 71 countries and regions.
