China’s deputy minister of education, Mr. Du Yubo attended the 1st Meeting of EU-China HEPCE in Brussels on 25th April. He mentioned on the meeting that China would be the biggest country for overseas study in Asia by 2020. Educational exchange has been a bridge over China and Europe and people all over the world.

The general secretary of China Scholarship Council, Mr. Liu Jinghui said on the meeting that, “China will support 50,000 foreign students to study in China. In 2020, about 500,000 foreign students will come to China to study.”
Mr. Liu introduced that about 32,000 foreign students studied in China last year, most of them are Korean and American. Compared with Europe, it has been the second biggest country for China’s student to study, but students from Europe to China in the last year are only 30,000. In 2013-2014, China will provide 1087 scholarship for European students to study in China.
The educational director-general of European Commission, Mr. Jan Truszczynski also said that the Chinese government had paid enough attention to China-Eu education communication. For a long time, there is a good cooperation in education between China and Europe. It is potential and has achieved remarkable results
