The 6th China-ASEAN Education Exchange week has just got through, China has signed 116 documents with the ASEAN countries. Since 2003 till now, China has established strategic partnership and created “Golden Decade” with ASEAN. During this time, communication and cooperation in education field provides China and ASEAN with so many talented people.
In 2012, the number of overseas students from ASEAN countries has broken through 60 thousand, which is approximately 19 percent of the total. There are three ASEAN countries came into the top 10 of all countries: Thailand (Ranking 4th), Indonesia (Ranking 6th), Vietnamese (Ranking 7th).
In order to promote the communication between China and ASEAN, the government of China put forward “Two 100-thousand Project” in 2012. It means that 100,000 Chinese and ASEAN students will go to study in each other’s countries in 2020. At the same time, the government of China will provide ASEAN countries with more government scholarships. In the next three years, the government of China will provide 15 thousand government scholarships to ASEAN countries.
