As the third Chinese Medicine Confucius Institute in the world and the first one in Asia, Chinese Medicine Confucius Institute (CMCI) at Hyogo College of Medicine (HCM) in Japan started on November 9, 2012.
At the opening ceremony, the General Director of HCM, Mr Sohei Shinka, issued Letters of Appointment to Chinese and Japanese Members of the Council Committee and Directors of CMCI. Afterwards General Director, President, Vice President and The Head of the Secretariat of HCM, together with Director, Deputy Director and The Head of the Secretariat of CMCI attended the ceremony at CMCI in the Research Building of HCM.
In the new office for Director of CMCI, the Chinese Director presented an inlaid gold craftwork gift lettering “HUA KAI FU GUI” (meaning fortune comes with blooming flowers) wishing prosperity of CMCI from its collaborating partner, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. Then all the staff of CMCI took a group picture and expressed the determination of trying their best to establish a Confucius Institute with a focus on Chinese Medicine.
