On January 25, 2012, invited by Croft Church of England Primary School, Chinese language teachers from Hummersknott Academy Confucius Classroom of SSAT Confucius Institute came to the school and held a one-day Spring Festival celebration with 100 pupils there.
On January 25, 2012, invited by Croft Church of England Primary School, Chinese language teachers from Hummersknott Academy Confucius Classroom of SSAT Confucius Institute came to the school and held a one-day Spring Festival celebration with 100 pupils there.
Croft Church of England Primary School groups its students from preschool to 6th grade into 4 combined grade classes. According to different learning characteristics and self-study abilities, four different activities were arranged – mini lion dance, picking up candies with chopsticks, singing Chinese New Year songs and writing Chinese Spring Festival couplets. Despite the fact that the school is a small rural primary school in Darlington County, pupils here showed great interest in learning about another culture, and the school attaches great importance to cultivating pupils’ international vision. The one-day celebration was proven a success and the school expressed its hope that some other two-month art courses could be launched.
