As the Year of the Dragon started in 2012, the Confucius Institute Grand Spring Festival Gala cohosted by Guangxi University and the Confucius Institute at Tallinn University was successfully held, which made the audiance feel the warmth of Chinese culture in the cold weather of Tallinn, the capital city of Estonia.

On the first day of February, Tallinn felt cold and cheerless with the mercury dropping to 20 degrees below zero. However, in the Great Hall of Tallinn University, the atmosphere was spring-like and full of warmth. The performers of Guangxi University’s Art Troupe gave fantastic performances of Confucius Institute Grand Spring Festival Gala for the students and faculty of Tallinn University. Joyfully, the youth from both countries celebrated the 2012 Spring Festival of Chinese Year of Dragon.

Before the gala started, the Rector of Tallinn University, Professor Tiit Land, the Counselor of Chinese Embassy in Estonia Madam Gao Chunyan as well as Professor Li Jibing, the head of the art troupe and Deputy Secretary of Guangxi University Party Committee, made opening speeches for the ceremony. Chinese Kung Fu, as an interactive program, was the highlight of the gala. Having performed Kung Fu, the martial arts coach and students asked the audience to go to the stage to practise Kung Fu with them. One after another, the audience stepped onto the stage, picked up their favorite weapons, followed the coach’s movement, posed various positions, and satisfied their craving for practicing Kung Fu. At last, they took a photo together, which was an unforgettable experience for them.
