More than 300 teachers and students were deeply attracted by "Turkish university and middle school students in China -Summer Camp'' photo exhibition placed by the entrance of the auditorium. Standing before the panels, and pointing to the photos, they asked excitedly and curiously, "This is the Great Wall? ''Is Chinese food delicious? '' Are they pandas? Wow! So cute! ''.
Wang Yake, a teacher from Confucius Institute first introduced the courses and activities of the Confucius Institute. Then our Chinese teacher Chen Jinjuan, introduced Chinese geography, diet, clothing, and festivals and some other basic parts of Chinese culture to teachers and students of YUCE School with a specially prepared PPT. While listening to beautiful Chinese music, the students tried to understand a faraway country, both familiar and strange to them. Seeing the majestic Great Wall, the towering Mount Tai, the skyscrapers of Shanghai, colorful traditional costumes, mouthwatering Chinese cuisine, teachers and students gave enthusiastic applauses and cheers from time to time.
The following activities were quite an eye-opener to the students participating in the activities ----------
To musical accompaniment, 10 YUCE students wearing Tang costumes and Qipao marched on the standard model catwalk onto the stage, causing quite a stir.
Students scrambled to answer questions about China, many raising hands high, and their eager eyes seeming to say, "Let me answer! Let me answer!''
Confucius Institute teachers and YUCE students knitted Chinese knots and played shuttlecock together, also demonstrated Chinese calligraphy and wrote their names for some teachers and students in Chinese. Those who got the chance were very happy, those who didn`t felt quite disappointed.
