On 15th March 2011, in the Conference Hall, Confucius Institute at ULIM held the Book Donation Ceremony for the participants at the “2011 Teaching Material Training Program for Local Chinese Teachers from Foreign Countries” organized by Confucius Institute Headquarters. More than 40 participants were present at the ceremony, delegates from Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture, from Ministry of Youth and Sport, from “Ion Creanga” Library, Republican Center for Children and Youth, as well as from various Universities from Moldova. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China in Moldova, Mr. Tong Mingtao, vice-rector of ULIM and Director of the Confucius Institute at ULIM, attended the ceremony and held a speech. The Ambassador, His Excellency, Mr. Tong Mingtao welcomed the spread of the Chinese culture, and expressed his sincere thanks to the participants for the efforts made to spread Chinese culture, he mentioned that the Chinese Embassy in Moldova will continue to support the activity of the Confucius Institute. Also he expressed his hope that the participants will work hard to continue to transmit the Chinese culture, and to promote Chinese language teaching materials. Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at ULIM, expressed her thanks to the participants for attending the ceremony, mentioning the great efforts made by “Ion Creanga” Library and by Ion Creang? Pedagogical State University to introduce Chinese language courses in their institutions, and also welcomed the intentions of other institutions to set up the Chinese language courses and encouraged them to contact the Confucius Institute at ULIM in order to make the necessary arrangements for promoting the Chinese language and culture. The director presented a part of the video made during the training in China in order to make the delegates recall the good days in China. The Ambassador, Mr. Tong Mingtao, on behalf of the Confucius Institute donated the teaching materials and the video CD to the participants. The delegates expressed their thanks to the Confucius Institute Headquarters for providing them with valuable training opportunities and important teaching materials. Also they mentioned that they will carry out the promotion of Chinese teaching materials. The event was a part of the “2011 Teaching Material Training Program for Local Chinese Teachers from Foreign Countries”, organized by Confucius Institute Headquarters. In the end of 2011, Confucius Institute at ULIM organized delegates from the Ministry of Youth and Sport, including the Minister of Youth and Sport from Moldova, officials from the Ministry of Education, and other government officials, directors schools and high schools, more than 50 people attended the training and cultural tour in China. During the training, General Director of the Confucius Institute headquarters, Ms. Xu Lin, met with the members of the delegation. Each participant will get 200 Chinese teaching materials, in order to promote them in primary, secondary and high schools from Moldova.
