1. The subdivision of educational market of study abroad in China remains uncompleted
The formulation of the situation of overseas student education has various reasons: first, in overseas student education, especially in its primary stage, language student education occupied the most part of the entire overseas student education. The overseas student education of many Chinese universities starts with teaching Chinese as a foreign language, through decades of development, the Chinese language teaching gains couples of advantages and special teaching staffs; second, the resource of overseas student studying degree programs is not sufficient, so in order to expand overseas students, many Chinese universities have to open door to language students.
In addition, though there is consistent demand for teaching Chinese as a foreign language in the education for international students in China market, nevertheless, as the policies constraint, the special language training schools for overseas student, especially private language training schools, are lacking of vivosphere, let alone the full development space, this also, to some extent, impedes the development of overseas student education in Hubei province.
In the education for international students in China market, many educational institutions lack of clear classification in the levels of overseas student recruitment and the current policies constrains the classification which can be facilitated through new educational institutions’ joining, thus making the education resource, especially education resource of high-quality taken up illogically, in the meanwhile, as a result, the ratio of overseas students receiving degree programs in many universities is not high and structure of overseas students is not satisfactory
2. The socialized service system remained to be established
The overseas students in Hubei province is a special group. Due to the regional and culture differences, this special group has strong demand for the socialized support service for overseas student’s education and living in Hubei province, such as educational counseling, living, medical service, part time jobs even psychological counseling that how to deal with cultural diversity to adapt to local life in Hubei province, etc. However, due to lacking of ideas and industrial policies and the shortage of talents of service, the market of service industry related to education service trade in China is imperfect even has not been established
3. The proportion and position of educational service trade in modern economy are still low.
So far, some world’s famous international metropolis, which in the meanwhile modern service trade developing central cities , have great impact on the areas near around. On the contrary, the disparities in the educational service trade in China is marked, well, there are plenty of reasons to make this happen, beside the above-mentioned comparatively small amount of overseas students in China, the low marketization of educational service market is also one factor; in the meanwhile, as result of unspecified policies and shortage of motivation, the educational service industry of education for overseas student in China is in primary stage, so this kind of educational service industry in China is low level, and lacks of brand effect, of course, it doesn’t form industry chain.
4. One-fold marketing means
To further enhance number of international student in China and improve study environment, in recent years, Wuhan government spends millions in the newly-set “Wuhan municipal government scholarship” every year, Education Department takes lead to organize universities to take part in relevant overseas education exhibition and sister cities’ summer camp. While in general, the promotion and marketing means of “Study in Hubei” are still one-fold, many publicity resources haven’t been effectively taken comprehensive use of.
