Training Program of Expert Group to Teach Chinese Language in Other Countries
In order to promote the cooperation and exchange between China and other countries in Chinese language teaching, Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban) has specially formulated this Training Program of Expert Group to Teach Chinese Language in Other Countries. The major task of this program is to send the domestic expert group of teaching Chinese language to other countries, to exchange the experiences in teaching Chinese language with the local teachers, and to provide training services. The form may be joint training activities between Hanban and foreign teaching organizations, and the organizer shall be Hanban. The training contents and models depend on the demand by the local teachers. The term that such an expert group teaches in other countries shall be around two years, and all the expenditure occurred in other countries shall be paid by Hanban. The application procedure is as follows:
I. Applicant Qualifications:
Include any Chinese language teaching organization in foreign mainstream society, which can organize fifty Chinese language teachers or more to attend the training class in this program.
II. Application Procedure:
Those that intend to participate in this program shall go to the Culture and Education Office (or Group) in the local Chinese Embassy or Consulate between November and December every year for application for the turn of the next year (the application form is shown in the attachment I). The local Chinese Embassy or Consulate shall assess the feasibility of such project and report it to Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban) which shall evaluate and demonstrate the project and report the results to the local Chinese Embassy or Consulate which shall inform the project party with such results.<0}
III. Notice for Application:
1. Preliminary work before the training to be prepared by foreign organizers
1) Based on the survey results of demand for the training, organize the training activities according to different levels of the trainees and different training requirements. For example, those whose mother tongue is Chinese shall be separated from those of non-Chinese mother tongue, and those receiving the training of teaching how to write Chinese characters shall be separated from those receiving the training of teaching oral Chinese.
2). Help the experts reserve lodgings. The accommodation shall not be far away from the training location, and shall come up with the standard for lodging.
3) Coordinate and arrange the itinerary of training, and report it to Hanban.
4) Provide the experts with necessary preparation materials, such as text books, videos for teaching, etc.
2. During the training to be done, foreign organizers need to
1) ferry the experts to and from school;
2) arrange the experts to visit classes or give lectures;
3) take photos or videos of training classes and deliver them to Hanban;
4) submit the feedback to Hanban, and Hanban shall provide questionnaire for reference (see Attachment III).
