The First China Education Expo opened here Monday to promote educational and academic exchanges of higher education institutions between China and Chile.
SANTIAGO, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- The First China Education Expo opened here Monday to promote educational and academic exchanges of higher education institutions between China and Chile.
Addressing the opening ceremony, China Scholarship Council (CSC) Secretary General Liu Jinghui briefed the audience of the status quo of bilateral educational exchanges.
She said there are 333 Chilean students currently studying in China, while only 20 Chinese students are studying in Chile.
"China and Chile enjoy an enormous potential for future cooperation and development in exchanges of students and scholars," Liu said.
Present at the expo are representatives of some 50 Chinese universities and educational institutions, including Peking University and University of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The event is jointly sponsored by the Chinese Embassy to Chile, the CSC and the National Committee on Science and Technology of the Chilean Education Ministry.
