The reporter learned from Hubei Provincial Department of Education, following the Three Gorges University, which was allowed to become "one of the institutions to undertake the task of cultivating the students who are awarded with Chinese Government Scholarship" in this year’s March, nowadays the Hubei University and Hubei Medical University has also been recognized by the International Department of the Ministry of Education. At present, there are seven colleges and universities which are directly under the management of the Ministry of Education and three provincial colleges and universities which receive the students who are awarded with Chinese Government Scholarship, of which the number of foreign students at the school exceed 12,000, ranking the 9th throughout our country.

It is reported that the foreign students in Hubei province are from over 160 countries and regions of five continents, among which the top five countries with the large amount of students to study in China universities are India, Vietnam, Pakistan, Russia and South Korea. The "hottest" top three majors which the foreign students attend in Hubei province are literature, medicine and engineering.

For nearly three years, the ranking of the education of foreign students in Hubei province’s colleges and universities in all indexes has improved 3-4 placing round the country.
