Minority groups from northern China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region will present a play centered around the furious blizzards of the region's prairies this weekend in Beijing.
BEIJING, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Minority groups from northern China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region will present a play centered around the furious blizzards of the region's prairies this weekend in Beijing.
"Hulunbuir Big Snowland" will showcase the folk music and dance of regional minority groups, Adia, a representative of the Inner Mongolian government, said at a Friday press conference.
The play will tell the story of local residents who weather the region's freezing winters for eight months every year, as well as give audiences a look at the "prairie culture" that is unique to the area, Adia said.
The play will be featured at the fourth Minority Art Festival of China, which will be held from June 7 to July 6. The festival will feature a total of 41 performances encompassing acrobatics, folk dance, traditional opera and modern drama.
