The 8th Course Forum in Mechanics, sponsored by Department of Mechanics in Ministry of Education, CRCT (China Research Center for Teaching and Learning in Universities and Colleges), CHEP (China Higher Education Press) and NPU, was held in NPU on June 1, 2013. This seminar was attended by over 70 professors and teachers from 20 universities nationwide, focusing on the course reform and development of Mechanics.

The Director of NPU Academic Affairs Sun Shudong extended his warm welcome in the opening ceremony, followed by an inspiring speech delivered by Vice President of CHEP, Zhao Xianghui. Wang Anqiang, vice dean from School of Mechanics, and Civil. & Architecture presided at the opening ceremony.

During the seminar, professors from SJTU, BUAA, HIT, NPU, etc made academic reports in the field of course reforms in Mechanics respectively. Besides lectures, teachers present actively participate in the discussion to reach consensus of the specific steps in advancing the course of Mechanics.
