On the evening of March 18, the Confucius Institute at the University of Zambia started the tenth basic Chinese Language Class smoothly, the characteristic of which lies in senior officials from Ministry of Education in Zambia took part in it and set off a new upsurge of Chinese learning. Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Zambia, Professor He Yi, Chinese Hanban Teachers Dr. Zhao Yiqiang and Mr. Guo Guangwei participated in the opening ceremony and delivered warm speeches.

Chinese Director He Yi pointed out in her speech that more and more people learn Chinese Language in Zambia and the range of students become wider and wider. From from the large, primary and secondary school students to the Chinese-funded enterprises, from social media to government officials from private schools to public University, from the grassroots to the community, the Zambian community regarded learning Chinese as a competitive workplace essential tool. She encouraged the novices to learn Chinese well , participate in the HSK, apply for Confucius Institute Scholarship, go to China to continue their studies and become cultural exchanges messenger between Sino-Zambia. The speaker teacher Zhao Yiqiang encouraged students to study Chinese Language seriously and put what they will get into daily life and working to talented people in Zambia.

The training will last to June, the duration is more than three month, the participants are from officials who work at Ministry of Education and community education sector. The Ministry of Education in Zambian said, as business related with China become more and more frequent, it is Chinese Language that needed most urgently by government staff in their work. In order to make apprentice to get more language, a symposium was held at Confucius Institute to discuss and design proper teaching content which include not only phonetic learning, but also special Chinese Language in order to achieve the goal to apply their knowledge in practice and improve interest and enthusiasm in learning Chinese.

Confucius Institute at the University of Zambia has established a good reputation via Chinese Language training with government agencies and Chinese-funded enterprises during the last more than two years.
