To fully implement the spirit of “Outline of China National Medium and Long Term Education Innovation and Development Plan(2010-2011)”, carry out “Study in China Plan”, enrich foreign students’ culture life, optimize study atmosphere, build famous brand of study in China activities and comprehensively increase international impact of study in China, we department starts “Study in China Activity——Foreign Students in China Sunshine Sport Culture Trip” activity. Below is the maters concerted about the start of the activity.

Through “Study in China Activity” to comprehensively present spirituality and aggressiveness of overseas students in China, demonstrate great recovery of China’ reform and open and harmony development, build a bridge of friendly exchange between China and the world, attract more foreigners to study and communicate in China and further improve China cultural soft power and influence.

The activity is hosted by Ministry of Education of China, and is undertaken by FUSC, and is organized and carried out by all provincial, autonomously regional, municipal Education Departments (or Education Committees). An event’s organizing committee will be built to take in charge of activity’s organizing and operation.  

The activity is for all foreign students and Chinese students from China higher schools and research institutions, sets up orienteering, 3 vs. 3 basketball game, local characterized individual or group sports and so on as competition’s required events, and sets up individual or group figured sports show (calisthenics, street dance, etc)，talents show and so on optional events, and in concordance with “Foreign students study about China” DV collection activity, through campus auditions, through provinces and areas selective trials, training camp, final competition, awarding ceremony and so on to build a year round activity system. Besides, the activity will take interactive way of online spreading and off-line, and through mainstream, Medias, new Medias and campus Medias’ overall spread so as to fully improve activity’s reputation.

The activity is open from October 2012 to July 2013, contains primary trials, Jiuzhou competition and final competition three stages. the teams are mainly university teams and Intercollegiate united, each team is made up by 10 people, among which girls and boys take up half, foreign students and Chinese students proportion is 4:1. Participants should love Chinese culture, be well in sports, speaks good Chinese, and have outstanding talents. The basic programs of the events are: campus orienteering (all members of the teams are involved); 3 vs. 3 basketball game (men and women each team) ; figured sports show; optional individual talents show; individual or group local characterized sports.

The primary trials time is from November 2012 to March 2013, contains school teams trails and regional teams trials. Each university and area protocols competition plan on their own and submit to event’s organizing committee for examining and recording. The plan should contains Chinese history, geology, people and culture and those elements which will be the reference for activity’s TV programs topic selection and producing. The first three teams of each areas will get promoted to take part in national Jiuzhou Completion.

Jiuzhou Competition is localized completion; it divided into 9 competition session, the time of the competition is from March to June 2013.

The competition place selection of Jiuzhou Competition should be based on the principal of independent declaration, select from best, overall management and highlight unique features. Each province education department can recommend event’s organizing committee representative cities or areas selected to be places where the Jiuzhou competition will be held according to local study in China development and combining local traditional history and natural landscape, set up and submit activity organizing planning scheme to the committee according to competition rules. The committee will make comprehensive assessment on the declaration and finally decides 9 cities or areas as holding places of the Jiuzhou Competition.  

The events of Jiuzhou Competition will add local primary level experience and unique feather activities besides the basic events, specific plans until further notice. The first three teams will be qualified to take part in the national final competition.

The national finals tentatively is scheduled for June or July 2013 at Qingdao, Shandong Province, the 27 teams stands out from Jiuzhou Competition will take part in the national finals, the finals contains sport games, talents competition, knowledge of Chinese culture three rounds, one who get most accumulated scores will be the champion. Specific rules will be noticed further  

Representatives from nationwide areas will be invited to attend finals’ awarding ceremony the winning unites and individual will be awarded then

  

The Organizing Committee will jointly held “’Foreign students study about China” DV collection activity’ together CCTV, activity plan will be notice further.

The finals will sets up individual award and group award, the first three teams and individuals will get the Trophies and Certificates of Honors, the winner teams’ members will get corresponding rewards, and will become Image Ambassador of this activity and image ambassador of China and abroad sports exchange activity. The higher schools and local education administrative department that first prize and second prize winning team are in will get trophies and certificates, members of first prize and second prize winning teams will win title of Chinese delegation volunteer of the 27^th Kazan of Russia world university students sports, and will have chance to attend relevant activities of university student sports meeting. The groups and individuals who get promoted in the primary level trails and JIuzhou competition will get trophies and certificates.

Each provincial administrative department for education and each higher schools please highly value this activity, regard it as important work of local area’ international education exchange and cooperation, strengthen leadership, carefully organize and innovate thought, carefully organized and carry out according to requirements and local areas and schools realistic, and actively implement relevant work.

Each provincial administrative department for education please submits all local higher schools and areas’ organizing plan for primary trails to FUSC before October 30^th 2012, and recommending declaration materials of holding places for Jiuzhou competition and events organizing plan to FUSC before December 15^th 2012
