19 May 2012 saw the opening of the annual event at the University of Nottingham Main Campus University Park—May Fest, which is a University Open Day to the society and the local people. Nottingham Confucius Institute joined in the annual event with other participants and demonstrated to visitors various Chinese elements such as tea ceremony, Taiji, calligraphy, Chinese Kongfu, paper folding, and fan dance etc.

The event lasted four hours from 11am to 3pm, with nearly 1000 visitors in all coming and taking part in the activities held in the China Hall, especially children, who were so happy to see so many exotic things about China and would not tear themselves away from the amusing activities.

Nottingham Confucius Institute will continue to join such events in future and offer visitors with better and more attractive activities about China.
