The “regulations on the administration of the People's Republic of China on the entry and exit" listed the implementation of the Ordinance which will be carried out on September first this year. The regulation proposed that foreign students who need to do part-time job or internship shall apply to immigration authorities and to add "work" time, place on their residence certificate.
Four classifications of Visa has been added
The “regulations on the administration of the People's Republic of China on the entry and exit" (hereinafter referred to as the" Regulations ") are based on this year's July 1 implementation of the" People's Republic of Immigration Control Act ". The regulations have classified kinds of the visa and have cleared the certificates and materials which are needed when applying for the visa.
According to the old regulations, foreigners who apply for entrance will be divided into eight categories; these are D, Z, X, F, L, G, C, J visa. And the alphabets of the visa are corresponding to settle work, study, visit, tourism, transit, crew, reporters and other grounds. The new regulations which retaining the existing visa categories are based on the old classifications .The differences are that the new regulations have split the F visa and L visa, and also, R visa has been added. The classifications of ordinary visas have been raised from 8 to 12. The official of the Immigration department said that in recent years, foreigners who come to China for business are rising, segments visa will be beneficial to carry out targeted services, and also be conducive to management.
International students’ doing Part-time job in China become legal in some situation
The Regulations also stipulates that foreigners who are the holders of residence permits and want to take a part-time job or internship, should make declaration to the local Public security organs to add complete information of their work on their residence documents. The information includes their work place, their work deadline. Foreigners who hold the learning class residence documents without the added information cannot take part-time jobs and internship off campus.
The reporters also got to know that there was no explicating requirement to issue any certificate from the international students who take part-time job during studying abroad in China before. So what the international students cared about is that whether there will be some influence of their taking part-time job after September. Sangpeng. the chairman of the Beijing international students service center introduced that the regulations has made standardization to international students’ taking part-time job and internship during their study in China. Sangpeng also showed that the new regulation may give legitimacy to international students’ work in China.
The official of the State Council Legislative Affairs Office showed in the interview that the new regulations clarify the reporting obligations of the international students’ employer who recruit them. And also, the regulations stipulates that international students should give an account to the local public security and immigration authorities which is above the county level once they leave their work or change their work place.
