On May 30th,the cooking room of Dartford Grammar School is full of fragrant flavour.Sixteen staffs who are keen on Chinese cuisine and curious about Chinese culture came to watch and learn to make Chinese Chicken Chow Mein .

On May 30th,the cooking room of Dartford Grammar School is full of fragrant flavour.Sixteen staffs who are keen on Chinese cuisine and curious about Chinese culture came to watch and learn to make Chinese Chicken Chow Mein .

 

Shortly after the email ad was sent out,eleven teachers at different ages registered on the day because the limited number is sixteen.The Line Manager Paul who is in charge of this activity is busy organising and everybody can’t wait!

 

At the very beginning,native Chinese teacher Paul introduced the chef—Helen Xiang to the staff and taught them some easy Chinese such as “Hello!”“Thank you!”“teacher”and so on.All the staff were all ears.

 

Hanban teacher XiangYanghong started to demonstrate,explaining while performing.She also introduced Chinese cuisine culture like the medical functions of spring onions and red peppers.Chinese dish is a combination of a beautiful colour,fragrant smell and delicious taste.When she mentioned a saying:The quickest way to a man’s heart is through his stamache.The female teachers nodded,saying that it’s similar in UK.

 

Tasting the Chicken Chow Mein cooked by themselves,they praised greatly with a series of expressions such as“So delicious”,“Magic” and“Amazing”.They show their thanks in simple Chinese “xiexieni”,“xianglaoshi”.
