March, 13, 2012, the Confucius Institute Grand Spring Festival Gala sponsored by Hanban, was successfully held in Bogazici University. The vice director of Hanban Hu Zhiping, the vice consulate-general of the People’s Republic of China in Istanbul Tian Kaisheng, the vice president of Bogazici University Arat, the Turkish Director of Confucius Institute at Bogazici University Prof. Selçuk Esenbel, the Chinese Director of Confucius Institute at Bogazici University associate Prof. Miao Fuguang and Chinese and foreign people that friendly to China, a total of about 400 people, attended to the Gala. The Gala has excellent effect on expressing Chinese culture, and the Chinese Knot, books, picture albums and calligraphy works has been accepted warmly by Turkish people, some of whom said that they were expecting to attend more Chinese cultural activities like this.

The Gala consisted by three parts: cultural exhibition, cocktale party and the Grand Spring Festival Gala.Hu Zhiping, Tian Kaisheng, and Prof. Arat gave their welcoming addresses to the audience while Director Miao Fuguang hosted the performance as a representitive of the undertaker of the Gala. The performances well prepared by the teachers and students from Dalian University of Foreign Languages won warm applause from the auditorium. Many audience went onto the stage to have pictures with the players.

All the staffs in the Confucius Institute at Bogazici University joined to the orgnization and preparation of the Gala, including inviting guests, stage settings, guests’ reception, advertisement, etc. The volunteer teacher Geng Jia and Çala, a turkish student in the institute, sang the popular Chinese song “The Moon Represents My Heart”.

March, 14, 2012, as a part of the Confucius Institute Grand Spring Festival Gala undertook by Bogazici Confucius Institute, the Gala was showed to about 300 audience in Okan University. Hu Zhiping met the President of Okan University Prof. ?ule Kut before the Gala. The consulate-general of the People’s Republic of China in Istanbul Zhang Qingyang, Prof. ?ule Kut and the executive of Okan University Mr. Okan attended the Gala. Zhang Qingyang sent the calligraphy work drawn in the performance to Okan University. The Turkish audience gave warmly reception to the Gala and have been aroused interests on Chinese culture. The Confucius Institute Grand Spring Festival Gala has been held in Istanbul successfully.
