On October 3rd, in the communication contest of the first Chen-style Tai Chi held in Martial Arts Center of Shandong province, a "foreign disciple" Arnold from Chile caught everyone's eyes. He was refined and courteous there and gained two No.1 in the contest of Tai Chi routine and the weapons by virtue of his excellent skills in Chinese Kung Fu.
Arnold is 31 years old this year. He got to Martial Arts at the age of 14 when his earliest practice was Taekwondo and Karate. From then on, he learned Chinese assiduously while practicing Martial Arts, and consequently he won first prize in the Chile's second Chinese contest in December, 2010 and was sponsored by Chinese Government Scholarship to study in China. Arnold came to study in Shandong University in September of 2011, being a second-grade graduate of the major of Ancient Chinese History from the school of History and Culture now.
Arnold was taught by Li Shufeng, the disciple of the Tai Chi master Hong Junsheng and the top teacher of Hsing-i Ch'uean Zhang Xigui after he came to China. His professional level of Martial Arts grew by leaps and bounds under the guidance of the two masters. At the same time, the learning in Shandong University helped Arnold improve his level of Chinese and the understanding of Chinese history and culture.
Arnold practiced in Martial Arts very hard, he used one and a half hours in practicing every morning and evening respectively in two years, and he often came to his teacher's home to consult them face to face. At the China International Traditional Martial Arts Festival held in Tai'an city in April, 2013, Arnold became the great champion in all the four competitions of the international group for male by virtue of his excellent performance.
Arnold said his dream is to become a "Mr. China", to carry forward Chinese Martial Arts in Chile.
