December, 1st 2012, China Hanban, Confucius institute headquarters and China Post Group Corporation held the first Confucius institute stamp publishing ceremony in Beijing. Every set of unique stamp contains two types of whom the topics are “Exchange” and “Teaching”, the face value of these two is 4.2 yuan, it is the “Confucius institute “themed stamp firstly published by China Post Group

The “exchange” themed stamp is pressed with a seal character stamp carved by the former Politburo’s standing committee and Chinese vice premier Lanqing Li for Confucius Institute, with peace dove, the earth and flying rainbow it expresses concepts of peace and culture ambassador, world and brides, etc. and the Chinese words “Nihao” obviously highlights the topic of “Exchange”. On the “Teaching” themed stamp, there is a charmingly naïve panda embracing a blackboard on which there is “Confucius institute” written in both English and Chinese, showing Confucius institute’s appetency to carry out Chinese language teaching; that a flying rainbow touched one wing of the peace dove on the first stamp expressed that Confucius institute is working as a bridge connecting the culture of different regions and colors
Since in 2004 when the first Confucius institute was founded, China Hanban and Confucius institute headquarters has set up more than 400 Confucius institutes and 500 Confucius classrooms in 108 countries.
