On February 11, as the Chinese New Year was approaching, Zhang Shufeng, the wife of the Chinese Ambassador to Malta and director of the Political Office paid a visit to the Confucius Institute at the University of Malta on behalf of the Chinese Embassy and on behalf of the ambassador, conveyed warm greetings to the teachers.

Ms.Zhang expressed her greetings and wishes to the teachers and brought them gifts for the festival on behalf of the embassy. She said that with the steady rise of China’s international status, Hanban has established a Confucius Institute at the University of Malta in order to meet the development of the friendship between the two countries. She expressed her hopes that the teachers will seize the opportunity to show their talents and make contributions to the promotion of Chinese culture and folk exchanges, and encouraged them to keep gaining new ground in an innovative manner and contributing to the friendship between the two countries. She also explained that the embassy would offer support to the Confucius Institute. Dean Wang Ying reported to Ms. Zhang on the institute’s affairs as well as future plans for its development.
